Fall 2012 SCL
The fall SCL classes will be as follows.
“Growing Kids God’s Way”
by Gary Ezzo
Growing Kids God’s Way (GKGW) is a comprehensive values-based parenting curriculum now utilized by more than 10,000 churches and schools worldwide and serves over a million households. In 2007 the student manual entered its 91st printing. There are several reasons why Growing Kids God’s Way is popular with the masses. The message is clear, the information speaks to the heart and mind of the child, the lessons are practical and the results are compelling - morally responsible children with a healthy view of self and others.
“Knowing God”
by JI Packer
In 2006, Christianity Today voted this title to be one of the top 50 books that have shaped evangelicals! During the past 20 years, J. I. Packer's classic has revealed to over one million Christians around the world the wonder, the glory and the joy of knowing God.
"Ephesians"
The theme for the book of Ephesians is the Christian's riches in Christ. Paul examines the source of our blessings, the scope of our blessings, and the sphere of our blessings in this letter. The fact that Paul is writing about wealth would be significant to his readers, because Ephesus was considered the bank of Asia. He compares the church to a temple and explains the great wealth that Christ has in His church!

Charles Stanley helps you develop a stronger and more consistent walk with God through the spiritual disciplines of Bible study, prayer, witnessing, church attendance, service, and obedience. As you learn to live out the basic spiritual disciplines highlighted in Practicing Basic Spiritual Disciplines you will be more likely to hear from God, experience His love, joy, and peace, grow in the effective use of your talents, and receive blessings that overflow like living water from your inmost heart out into the needy world.

Summer 2012 SCL
Good News Bible Church's School of Christian Living summer classes will be as follows.
Galatians: The Book of Galatians was written about 49 AD with the purpose of teaching that Christians were free from the restrictive laws of the Jews. Writing to several regional churches, Paul can only “marvel” that Galatian Christians have turned their freedom in Christ back to the rules of Old Testament Judaism. Some people were attempting to compel the early believers to “live as the Jews do” (2:14), an error that even as strong of a believer as the Apostle Peter would make (2:11-13). Paul makes the compelling argument that no man is justified by his works but rather that the just shall live by faith (3:11).
Philippians: This Pauline epistle was written sometime around 60 AD as a “friendship” letter between the apostle and the beloved church. Philippians, with its 16 references to “joy” and “rejoicing”, is one of the apostle’s most “upbeat” letters, in spite of the fact that he was writing it “in bonds” (1:13). A timeless principle we learn when studying this book is that believers throughout the ages can “rejoice in the Lord always” (4:4).
Colossians: Colossians, a Pauline epistle written in the early 60’s AD emphasizes the fact that Jesus Christ is supreme over everything and everyone. Although false teachers had crept into the church at Colossae, adding unnecessary unhelpful elements to their Christian faith, Paul stood firm against this error, addressing it in Colossians. Repeatedly, Paul reminds his readers of the superiority of Christ over Jewish rules and regulations, and angels and anything else because Jesus is “the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature” (1:15).

The salvation message will be presented during the evening. Please bring friends, family and co-workers to this event. Our Guest speaker for the evening will be Terri Carmouche.
Terri Carmouche is a lover of Jesus, wife and mother of 3, that is passionate about knowing Jesus and making Him known. As a Philadelphia native and first generation Christian, she is all too familiar with the struggles of being raised in a godless home as well as the obstacles of growing up in the inner city. But GOD in His infinite wisdom sovereignly called Terri to Himself as an adult to teach her that her past does predicate her future. By extracting from GOD's truth, she has chosen to exchange her ashes for HIS beauty and loves to inspire others to do the same.
